    Description

Here is a beautiful Marblehead Pottery undecorated vase in one of their classic hand thrown shapes. It is covered in a smooth, even, dark matte blue glaze that they called "Marblehead Blue".  The pottery was founded in Massachusetts by Dr Herbert Hall, run by Arthur Baggs, and dates to about 1915.  This piece measures 6 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest.   It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, or firing flaws. Faintly marked under the glaze with the firms die-stamped MP with ship and waves mark.  A very nice piece with a beautiful glaze by a great New England Arts & Crafts Art Pottery.  If you have any questions please click on our username or visit our store page and feel free to email through the gallery or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.
