Marblehead Pottery decorated leaf & berry vase Arts & Crafts matte green yellow

Description

Here is a beautiful Marblehead Pottery decorated ovoid vase with a repeating design of leaf, vine, and berries around the rim in green and brown against a matte speckled sandy yellow ground. The interior is a glossy amber clear showing through to the red clay.  The pottery was founded in Massachusetts by Dr Herbert Hall, run by Arthur Baggs, and dates to about 1915. It measures 5 1/8 inches tall and 3 3/8 inches in diameter at the widest.  It is in great condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws, just a little unevenness from the throwing inside the rim.  Marked on the bottom with their die-stamped ship mark and oval paper label.  A fine piece of New England Arts & Crafts art pottery.  If you have any questions please click on our username or visit our store page and feel free to email through the gallery or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.
