    Description

    Here is a very nice Marblehead Pottery big vase in their classic ovoid "football" shape. It is covered in a smooth and even dark matte blue glaze that they called "Marblehead Blue", with a pale robin's egg blue on the interior.  The pottery was founded in Massachusetts by Dr Herbert Hall, run by Arthur Baggs, and dates to about 1915.  This piece measures 9 1/8 inches tall and 5 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest, quite large for Marblehead.   It is in good condition with only a tiny nick to the outer foot edge and no chips, cracks, or repairs, or firing flaws.
