Made by: SUPCO, Sealed Units Parts Company
Part# DP34
Drain-Plus
DRAIN-PLUS, Takes the Place of the P-Trap, Seals, A/C, Heat Pumps, Mini Splits
3/4" Drain Plus
HVAC Condensate Drain
A drain solution defined for HVAC condensate lines. Negative coil pressure needs some type of drain trap. Drain Plus was developed specifically for this purpose. Whether the inside fan runs continuously or intermittent, Drain Plus seals the condensate line.
FEATURES/BENEFITS
• Lifetime Warranty
• Prevents Dry Trap Syndrome
• Easy installation
• Removable cap for easy cleaning and inspection of the condensate line.
• Replaces conventional PVC P-Traps.
APPLICATIONS & USE
• Drain-Plus is specifically designed for HVAC draw through (negative pressure) systems.
• Allows maintenance operation of “dry trap” syndrome effects or conditions.
• Dry Trap occurs whenever a HVAC system is not providing cooling for a few weeks; no moisture is being removed from the air. This means there is no continuous supply of water to the P-trap and the trap becomes dry. This effectively removes the drain seal that is critically important to negative pressure systems.
• What causes dry trap syndrome? Condensate evaporation and condensate leakage. The negative pressure in a typical HVAC system exceeds the depth of the drain pan. This prevents condensate to flow in a dry trap and pan overflow occurs. This result is commonly seen in flooded floors and ceilings.
• Instead of the standard P-trap installation, Drain-Plus is installed at the end of condensate lines, on the main line and auxiliary drains of Packaged / Roof Top Units and Split Systems (horizontal applications) with or without a drain pan.
• The device maintains a drain seal whether or not condensate is present.
• Drain-Plus contains a ball and rubber O-ring that form a seal on the condensate line anytime the unit is running.
• By sealing the condensate line, no outside contaminants can be sucked intothe systems.
• Since the condensate line is not under any negative pressure, water is able to flow unimpeded.
Inexpensive to Operate
Long Life Assured Under Normal Usage
