The prototype of the collection doll Eleanor the Cat is - the most beautiful and influential woman of her era, Eleanor of Aquitaine. She was the wife of two kings (the first husband was the French king Louis VII, the second was the English monarch Henry II), and also the mother of three kings and two queens. The most famous of her sons is Richard the Lionheart. At the end of her life she was called the "Grandmother of Europe". Needless to say, Eleanor was truly an amazing woman!
When she was very young, she lost her parents, so at the age of 15 she inherited the Duchy of Aquitaine, which was larger than the possession of the French king. The inhabitants of the duchy, who at first reacted with concern to such a turn of fate, later literally idolized their ruler. The Aquitaine courtyard was the most magnificent in Europe, surpassed many royal ones. Eleanor provided patronage to poets, musicians, artists. Wandering troubadours spread her fame throughout Europe.
She stayed queen of France for 15 years, and then, disappointed in her husband, having cooled to him, demanded a divorce. It was an unthinkable business! Despite the difficulty of dissolving a Catholic marriage, the Pope still allowed the couple to part. Two years later, Eleanor became Queen of England.
Time turned out to have no power over her, and even in old age she remained dazzlingly beautiful. Eleanor lived for 82 years. Her descendants - 9 children, 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren - sat on the thrones of England, Germany, Portugal, France, Aragon, Sicily, Castile, Jerusalem and Cyprus.
Collectible doll Cat Eleanor is made on the basis of a metal frame, which ensures durability of the product. A synthetic winterizer is used to shape the doll. The head, arms and legs are made of high quality Koelginsky marble, which is brought in the form of marble chips, then molded into molds and painted with acrylics by hand. European fabrics and lace are used when sewing costumes.
